Flexographic printing or flexo printing,frequently used for printing on plastic, foil, and other materials used in packaging, flexography uses flexible printing plates made of rubber or plastic. The inked plates with a slightly raised image are rotated on a cylinder which transfers the image to the substrate. Flexography uses fast-drying inks, is a high-speed print process, can print on many types of absorbent and non-absorbent materials, and can print continuous patterns(such as gift wraps, wallpaper, food package, Roll banners and corrugated base wrap). And some more typical applications for flexography are paper and plastic bags, milk cartons, disposable cups, Labels and candy bar wrappers etc.

Customers always ask us the difference between satin woven labels and damask woven labels?
Well, Satin polyester threads weave the background, while regular damask polyester threads are used to weave the text and design on your label.
Damask woven labels are made of 100% polyester threads.The background material whether it be white or black or red or blue it is also covered with that same thread color. This label is soft and durable. For a woven label on satin material the background material is not polyester it is satin. We offer various satin woven labels. The text and/or artwork are woven into the satin material.This label is also soft and durable but the satin material has a sheen to it.
Also, the density are different.Satin woven label is one of salvage woven label, it has glossy surface and salvage edge. It is starched and seems high grad. But The threads for satin woven are a little thick; the surface will have small holes. Damask woven label is one of the computerized woven labels. It is the high quality woven label; the threads are thinnest which can show fine details.
The max threads on one labels are different. For satin labels,the threads are much less than damask woven labels.Damask woven labels can be 8 colors, but satin, we’d better do them at less than 4 colors.
Why choose satin woven labels over damask?
Good question.Both are great and both are durable but if you want a smooth background with a “sheen” to it, then a satin background is the way to go.Satin is priced the exact same as damask, so making the choice can be difficult. Most people who choose satin prefer the look and feel of the satin weave over the damask. If you are making vintage inspired clothing or accessories, satin would be a good fit. It’s also great for infant apparel. If you want a label with lots of color and detail, satin woven labels might not be right for you, as you are limited in background color options.
Most finished products need labels, such as paper labels/vinyl labels/woven labels/leather labels/metal labels or tags. Here I’d like to introduce the woven labels. As you can see, woven labels are more preferred by garments, bags, shoes, hats, gifts, sofa, quilt, luggage, toy designer or manufactory or seller.
There are three main kinds woven labels such as satin woven labels, damask woven labels, cotton woven labels etc.
Satin Woven Label: it is glossy on the surface, look like silk; the top and bottom edge is weaved, hard to transformation, which makes it high-grade. But the warps for weaving the logos/letters in satin woven labels are 100 deniers thickness, so the weaved logos/letters seems relatively rough; it can’t express much detailed details. However, they are always for high quality garments such as clothing, wedding dresses, baby clothing, robes and scarves, which is soft and great for touch the skin.
Damask woven label have texture as the background. The top and bottom edge of damask woven labels is heat cut or ultrasonic cut, very easy to transformation. But the warps for weaving the logos/letters in damask woven labels can be 50 deniers thinnest. 50D woven labels we said is this kind of woven label. The weaved logos/letters are exquisite; they can show the details very clearly. But they are not so soft as satin ones.
Cotton woven labels can be plain cotton or twill cotton, which is soft and perfect for baby clothing. But usually, it’s printed with screen printing or heat transfer printing or sublimation printing.
